Awakenings by the Sea is a residential and outpatient addiction and mental health treatment facility for women only.This inpatient rehab center prides itself on offering affordable, gender-specific rehab programs for women at a beautiful, private location on the North Coast of Oregon. Algamus is one of the only residential gambling treatment programs in the United States that treats gambling and only gambling. Many on our staff are in recovery from gambling addiction and understand as few do the unique issues surrounding the gambling disorder. We are an intimate program and our staff to patient ratio is almost one to one. Treatment methods commonly employed in gambling treatment centers include cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational therapy, medication, and Gamblers Anonymous meetings. 2 Many inpatient gambling rehabilitation programs also offer group meetings, individual counseling, life skills coaching, and evaluation and treatment for other issues.

SCREENING TOOLS
Please visit our Screening Tools page to access three problem gambling assessment tools. It is important to note that these screens are not a diagnosis and DO NOT replace a face-to-face evaluation with a trained clinical professional.
• The Brief Biosocial Gambling Screen (BBGS). A 3-item survey designed to help people decide on their own whether to seek a formal evaluation of their gambling behavior.
• DSM-5 Addictive Gambling Criteria. The American Psychiatric Association guidelines used for the medical diagnosis of addictive gambling.
• NORC Diagnostic Screen for Gambling Problems. This simple self test will help you to evaluate your gambling behavior. Just answer 10 questions adapted from the DSM IV criteria.
